What do you know about this date?

I’m sure most of us if not all of have heard or read about the famous “cursed date”, Friday 13. Guess what? Today is Friday the 13th!!!.

What exactly happens on this date you may ask? I don’t know too but one thing I’ve read and heard over time is that something bad happens or had happened on this date.

Today, November 13th,2020 turns out to be last Friday the 13th of the decade and people all over the world are already having a melt down. *sigh* It happens to be special to those who believe in the accursed date and all the hype and superstitions that come with the date.

Weirdly, this date isn’t even trending in the Nigerian Twitter space, lol.. instead the top five (5) trends are centred around Davido’s latest album – A Better Time #ABT_THEALBUM, Chris Brown, Talent, King David and Yellow. It didn’t even make it to the top twenty (20) trends of the day, so the burning question- What’s the fuss about Friday the 13th??

According to Wikipedia, Friday the 13th, this date is linked to some “horror superstition” It states that “Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition. It occurs when the 13th day of the month in the Gregorian calendar falls on a Friday, which happens at least once every year but can occur up to three times in the same year. For example, 2015 had a Friday the 13th in February, March, and November; 2017 through 2020 had two Friday the 13ths each; and the years 2021 and 2022 will both have just one occurrence each”.

Friday the 13th occurs in any month that begins on a Sunday.
